Barbara's inspirational story encourages all of us to stand up for what we know is right. She reminds us that one person's commitment to justice can change the world.

From high school dropout to Harvard Medical School lecturer and school board president. From stay at home mom to disability rights activist. From Jewish grandmother to leader in the fight for Palestinian justice. Barbara's amazing story needs to be told.

As the co-founder of the Middle East Children's Alliance she has delivered more than $18 million worth of humanitarian aid to the West Bank, Gaza Strip, Lebanon and Iraq. She has taken hundreds of people on delegations to see the situation firsthand and inspired thousands to become activists for justice.
S. Smith Patrick and Anton Herbert.

S. Smith Patrick is a documentary filmmaker and photographer whose work focuses on human rights and social issues. Her films have screened internationally and have won numerous awards.
In 1998 smith met Barbara Lubin in Dheisheh refugee camp, in Palestine. They began collaborating shortly after that when Barbara invited Smith to accompany the Ibdaa dance troupe on their American tour.
The experience inspired the film, The Children of Ibdaa: To Create Something Out of Nothing (2003), about a Palestinian children’s dance troupe using its performance to express the history, struggle and aspirations of the Palestinian people. It screened worldwide, won numerous awards and laid the foundation for ongoing solidarity projects with Palestinian communities in Occupied Palestine, especially in partnership with Barbara and the Middle East Children’s Alliance.
